Chyld is from Attawapiskat and she learned at a very young age to take care of herself. She seemed to instinctively know that life is what you make it. When she arrived into foster care up north she was an orphan but she craved nurturing and affection.There was an adult female who had just finished nursing her pups so Chyld claimed her as her own. For some reason the mom allowed her to cuddle up and feed from her. Maybe she missed her pups who had grown enough to be independent. Most moms are happy when their pups no longer need to be nursed but something in this one caused her to give a little bit more to an orphan pup in need.
When both dogs were put on a plane to fly south to us Chyld comforted the mom who became nervous and unsure. Chyld returned the care she had been given when she so desperately needed it. They were quite a pair but when the mom went into foster care and Chyld came to us they had to be separated. Both seemed to know that hardship was behind them and they were able to let go and move on.
Chyld is a happy girl who runs and plays with joy and delight. She celebrates each day and looks forward to the time when she is part of a family who will love her and care for her as a stray mom once did. She will love with abandon and stay true and strong to those who love her.
She is pictured with Lady Fox, the mom who took such good care of her as an orphan pup, and she too is available for adoption.
